Our Green Office

Archinia has a green office initiative! That means:

• We have a 4-day workweek. (M-R 7:30 AM -6:00PM)
• We work from home as much as we can, so we don’t have overhead for expensive offices, and reduce our commute.
• We use natural ventilation and light in our workspaces.
• Energy settings on all our computers are optimized.
• We turn off everything, every night by switching our surge protectors.
• We do most of our communications digitally, and our archiving too!
• We use the front and back of all paper that is not contract-related.
• Project binders, and all paper and office support products are chosen by their recycled and recyclable content. We use 100% post-consumer recycled paper and envelopes that have been processed and colored using eco-friendly methods.
• We use vegetable-based inks whenever possible.
• We use refillable pens and mechanical pencils.
• We use biodegradable soaps and cloth towels.
• We recycle our printer cartridges and buy recycled ones to replace them with.
• We recycle.
• We reuse shipping boxes and use waste paper as filler material.
• We use labels with water-based adhesives.
• We wash our reusable cups, dishes, napkins, and utensils. We don’t use plastic stir-sticks for our coffee service.
• When we have an all-office meeting where food is served, we use caterers that allow us buffet-style service in lieu of box lunches.
• Condiments are from big bottles, not individual serving packets.
• We provide cold spring water coolers from local sources.
• We use fair trade coffee.
• We use reusable binder clips in lieu of staples whenever possible.
• We wear sweaters and turn the heat down.
• All newly purchased equipment is Energy-Star rated.
• We use LCD flat screens for our computers.
• We are opting-in for green power!
• We don’t use paper mailing lists! Our holiday cards are digital!
• We encourage smart shopping – thrift and consignment stores are our friend!
• We frequent green and eco-friendly establishments.
