VICTORY HALL THEATER RENOVATION, SCOTTSVILLE, VA

Field investigation, documentation of existing conditions, and proposal for redevelopment of historic community theater. The theater was originally designed as a grand structure of eclectic Italianate design. Early photographic evidence indicated that the theater was a more subtle variation of the original design. My charge was to find a way to make renovations historically appropriate and meet modern building codes and accessibility requirements. Project completed while working as preservation specialist at FPW Architects in Charlottesville, VA.

MUSEUM OF THE AMERICAN INDIAN, WASHINGTON, DC

The five-story, 250,000SF, curvilinear museum is clad in a golden-colored Kasota limestone designed to evoke natural rock formations shaped by wind and water over thousands of years. The museum is set in a 4.25 acre site and is surrounded by simulated wetlands. My firm was hired by Smithgroup to assist in the completion of the Construction Documents for the museum. I was project manager in charge of MEP and Structural coordination - an challenging feat, as the floors do not stack geometrically!
